Totally Travel specialises in wildlife volunteer programs around the world, including practical and educational African Wildlife Veterinary Experiences for Vet students.

Our wildlife volunteer programs run 52 weeks a year so you have absolute flexibility as to when to go and for how long – these programs are focussed on husbandry, availability is less of an issue with these trips and we have spots throughout the year. On the other hand, the specialist 2 week Veterinary Experiences are fixed date groups, each with a maximum of just 10 participants meaning these programs can and do often fill long in advance.

Our African programs take place in a variety of wildlife sanctuaries and private game reserves in Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe – you stay on site, so you’re never too far from the animals day or night. Whichever trip you choose, everything is provided for you – airport transfers, accommodation and meals, transportation and a range of activities throughout your stay, always supported by a wildlife professional and/or veterinarian.

The specialist programs regularly fill up to 18 months in advance, so now is the time to be making plans for 2025. That being said, we do still have a few spots available for this year:

Big 5 Veterinary Experience – available 10^th–24th June
Zimbabwe Veterinary Experience – available 23^rd June – 7^th July and 24^th November – 8^th December
Zambia Wildlife Capture Experience – available 23^rd June–3^rd July (last 3 spots), 4^th-14^th August (1 spot only)
Namibia Wildlife Rehab Experience – available 1^st– 14^th September
